On Christmas Eve Tony, Charlotte, Toni-Lynn & Ethan Parsons lit the Christ candle…
We celebrate the birth of Christ!
During Christmas, we celebrate how Christ came into the world to teach, love, and show us how to serve. Over the past number of weeks, we’ve seen how Christ is our hope, peace, joy and love. On Christmas Eve, we celebrate the life of Christ and what he came to accomplish.
Just as Jesus was about to start his ministry, He said…
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Jesus came to bring freedom, give hope, purpose, and show how God’s kingdom was being established.
Many people often miss the backbone of the Christmas season. Today, we remember how Christ came into this world and saved us. We remember that there is hope in darkness, there is peace during a crisis, there is joy every day, and there is nonjudgmental love for everyone.
As we remember Christ, let us also await His imminent return. As we light the Christ candle, let us set our sight on Him and what we have to look forward to.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for sending your Son. On this Christmas Eve, we remember that Christ came to save us, to bring us hope, peace, joy and love. As we celebrate with family and friends, continue to be the centre of Christmas. Help us show others the life you’ve given us, and remind us of the eternal life waiting for us in heaven. In Jesus name, Amen.
